Mr. George Alexander Dee (Dee-Baby) 69, of 310 Compact School Road transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Monday November 21st 2016, at Testa Hospice House of Kings Mountain. Born in Kings Mountain on January 14, 1947 he was the son of the late George Washington Dee, and Lucille Falls Dee.
Mr. Dee is survived by his wife of 41 years Mrs. Zulie T. Dee of the home and one son Jason L. Dee of Kings Mountain as well as three sisters, Mary Frances Adams, Myrtle A. Thompson and Tara Bryant all of Kings Mountain, along with a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as one brother James Dee and along with nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dee was an avid out doorsman who loved to hunt and fish as well as work on any type of car that was brought to him. Prior to his illness he would work on many different types of vehicles in his own yard and wouldn’t ask for nothing in return but got enjoyment in working on vehicles, this gift that he had he passed down to his nephews who learned from him. After becoming ill he spent his latter days with his younger nieces and nephews whom he considered his own and would sit and watch their favorite cartoons with them as long as they wanted to, along with his dog Popeye. He also had a great sense of humor for people that knew him and always had a story to tell about anything and everything.
Mr. Dee was an original member of the Compact Men’s Club, he would help the community with hosting annual cookouts and presenting fruit baskets to the seniors in the community during the holiday season.
Visitation will be held 30 min. prior to the funeral service
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30, on Saturday, November 26th at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Kings Mountain with Pastor Charles Webber officiating.
Burial will take place in Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
The family would like to thanks Hospice of Cleveland County, Kings Mountain Hospital for their unwavering care of Mr. Dee through his illness and the professionalism that was shown not only in home but during hospital stays and finally at Testa Hospice.
