Robert Lee Ussery, Jr.

Hickory - Robert "Bob" Ussery, Jr., age 74 of 4012 North Center St. Apt. 105 Hickory, NC; departed this life on January 25, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice Care of Newton, NC; 

Sunrise… Robert Ussery was born May 3, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late Robert Lee Ussery, Sr. and late Daisy Ussery. Robert graduated from Douglas High School in 1961. He had been ill for the last 15 years with Parkinson Syndrome. He retired from Eastman Kodak Company in 1992. He was a Planner and Supervisor. While working at Kodak, he earned his Associate Degree in Business Management. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1964 to 1968 and was promoted to Rank of Sergeant. He was Honorable Discharged. Robert was the author of a book called “Bob’s Life Journey-In His Own Words”. Robert was a member of Hillside Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia for 35 years where he served as an Elder.                                                                                                         
Sunset…. On January 25, 2016, Robert entered eternal rest  in Hickory, North Carolina at Catawba Regional Hospice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two brothers, Primus Ussery and Walker Ussery and two sisters, Lucille Jackson and Mary Jane Ussery.  Those who remain….Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Margie Ussery; one son, Robert L.  Ussery, III; one daughter, Rhonda Terry; six brothers, Issac Ussery, Elder Charlie Frank Ussery, Willie Gene Ussery, Johnny Lee Ussery, Daniel Ussery and David Ussery; two sisters, Rosie Parker and Mollie Danner; two half sisters, Diane Allen and Janice Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service: 12:30pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Lawndale. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Elder Brian Roger, officiating
