Virginia (Sargent) Parks

Shelby - Virginia Parks ,age 85, of 300 Hatcher Spangler Rd Shelby NC, peacefully transitioned from this life on Friday March  26, 2021, at Cleveland Pines Shelby. 
She was born May 17, 1935 to the late Cleo Sargent and Frances McCleary in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Virginia accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She as member of Mountain View Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. Virginia was united in marriage to E. P. Parks in Cherokee County, South Carolina, October 17th 1948. To this union they were blessed with 7 children. She enjoyed cooking, working in the garden, and taking care of family fixing things.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, E. P. Parks; her parents, Cleo Sargent and Frances McCleary; son, Ernest Parks; daughter, Ann Pompey; and her brother, Frankie D. McCluney. Left to cherish her memories: her daughters, Shirley Price (John), Emma Parks, Jennie Danner (Terry), Vanessa Mauney, Denise Hillman (Donald), twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Willie Mae Parks, sister-in-law, Mae McCluney, Dosha Parks, Ella Mae Parks, brothers-in-law, J. V. Parks, James Parks, and a host of other relatives and friends.
