Shawn Tovani Avery

Greenville - Mr. Shawn Tovani Avery, age 59, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Prisma Health North Greenville Hospital. Born February 15, 1964, the son of Ms. Doris Avery and the late Jacob Wakefield.

He attended the public schools of Greenville County graduating from Woodmont High School class of 1982, and a veteran of the U. S. Army. He is survived by his mother, Doris Avery of the home; two children, Myles Avery of Greenville, SC., Zora Noel Avery  of Mississauga, Ontario; two sisters, Ayesha M. Irby of Baltimore, Maryland, and Ayana C. Irby of Simpsonville, South Carolina; three aunts, Kathleen Brooks of Piedmont, South Carolina, Ruth (Vincent) Avery-Pridgen of Greenville, South Carolina, and Vernell (Danny) Gilliam of Charlotte, North Carolina; two uncles, James Avery and Bernard Avery both of Greenville, South Carolina.

Public viewing will be on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 pm Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Beasley Funeral Home Chapel Greenville. Interment will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
