Patricia Crockett

Kings Mountain - Patricia Sanders Crockett was born to the late Ola Lee Sanders and Tommy A. Smith on August 17, 1935, in Broad River Township in York County and departed this earthly life Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Atrium Health-Cleveland, Shelby, North Carolina. 

Patricia received her formal education at Zion Hill School, District #22 in Bowling Green, South Carolina. 

Prior to retirement, Patricia was employed by Howard Johnson and Days Inn Hotel as a Housekeeping Supervisor for 30+ years in which she was the 1st African American in Gastonia, North Carolina.  She  enjoyed quilting with her first cousins.

Patricia accepted Christ as her Savior at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. 

She was united in marriage with James W. Crockett on July 12, 1957, in York, South Carolina.       

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents: Ola L. Sanders and Tommy A. Smith; 7 siblings, Gracie McCleave, Francis Roseboro, William Sanders, Charles Sanders, James Sanders, Isaac Sanders, Octavius Smith, and son-in-law, Harry Sadler. 

Fond memories of Patricia are left in the hearts of her husband of 65 years:  James Crockett of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; children,  P. Virginia Smith, Sarah Sadler, Dennis Anderson (Marilyn), Debbie  Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Tabitha Anderson, Myrtle McCleave, and James Brice, grandchildren, Vashon Sadler of Gastonia, North                     Carolina, Tia Warren (Kevin, Jr.) of Whitsett, North  Carolina ; two great-grandchildren, Kalaina Warren and Kevin Warren III; sister, Mary Glenn, and a host of other beloved family and friends that she loved so very dearly:  Hart Family, Lee Ross family, god-daughter, Patty Threats, and god-son, T J Miller.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday August 28, 2022 at Mt.Sinai Missionary Baptist Church at 1:30 P.M. visitation 30 minutes prior to service. Burial Gaston Memorial Park.
