Nyree Imani Greenhill

Shelby- Nyree I. Greenhill, age 24, of 1105 Mark Drive, Shelby peacefully transitioned on January 24, 2020 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Nyree Imani Greenhill was born on December 2, 1995 to the late Renee Copes and Marvin Prince in East Meadow, New York. On the morning of Friday, January 24, 2020, the angel of silence came into Charlotte Main Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Nyree. Her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest. Nyree joined Eskridge Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized. She became a member of the Youth Choir where she sang for many years. She received her education from Cleveland County School System. She graduated from Shelby High School, and additional study from Cleveland Community College, Shelby, North Carolina, and Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, North Carolina. She was employed as a CNA at Cleveland Pines and also worked in the heart monitoring department of Atrium Health Cleveland and various other corporations. There are some lives that disappoint us, some impressions of character which we have to revise in later years, but the impression that was formed of Nyree when you first met her remained unchanged to the end of her life. Nyree always had a smile on her face and she loved life. She was so kind and always thought of others before she thought of herself. She loved writing in her journal and playing monopoly. She also love to baby sit. Left to cherish fond memories are: her loving grandmother; Barbara Lynch of Charlotte, North Carolina, two aunts; Vernie Hector of Shelby, North Carolina, Kamilah Richburg of Charlotte, North Carolina, an uncle; Donald Hector (Hattie) of Davisboro, Georgia, and a host of cousins, relatives, and many friends.
