Lily Jean Skillman

Spartanburg – With heavy hearts, we share that our mother, Lily J. Skillman, passed away on 11/23/25, at the age of 69. She left us peacefully, surrounded by people who loved her deeply.

Born in Saint Mary’s PA, she grew into a woman known for her strong will, fierce independence, and remarkable spirit. She faced life head-on, never backing down from a challenge and always standing up for what she believed in.

In her spare time, Lily loved rolling up her sleeves and working on cars or tackling DIY projects. Whether she was fixing something, building something, or just figuring out how things worked, she approached it with determination, creativity, and the independence that defined her.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill and Wade Casper; her daughter, Sheila Glover; and her four grandchildren, Patrick Casper, Alex Casper, Brandon Casper, and Jaycee Casper, who will miss her presence, her advice, her warmth, and who will forever hold her memory close. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Beverly Casper, and Beverly’s children — Nathan Woodhead, Ben, Michael, and Ceara Robbins— who were a cherished part of her extended family.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal service or memorial. Instead, the family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life and the strength, love, and spirit she shared with all of us.

A memorial service will held at a later date.
