Joyce Elaine (Woods) Huskey

Shelby - Mrs. Joyce Elaine Woods Huskey, 69, of Shelby, NC went home to join her Heavenly Father on July 21, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Betty Jean Nance Card and the late James William Woods. Joyce was employed by Hanes Brand until her health declined. She was a faithful member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church where she served in many capacities over the years including being a member of the Mass and Spiritual Choirs, serving as a Deaconess, and working with the Sunday School department and the Sunlight Choir. She will forever be remembered for her caring nature and her loving smile.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Hattie Nance; paternal grandparents, Jamie and Edna Woods; brothers Willie Woods, James Feaster, and Alvin Card; and stepfather Calvin Card, Sr

Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband of 52 years, Willie Huskey, Sr.; her children Carolyn Thompson, Willie Huskey, Jr., Pamela Huskey, and Marice (Lauren) Huskey; her grandchildren Dexanie, Britney, Quanita (Jesse), Kason, Ke’Asia, Ja’Maury, Devonte, Jocelyn, and Prentice; her siblings Katherine (Jimmy) Curry, Octavia (Jerod) Sowell, Calvin Card, Jr., Alandus Card, and Delapena Card; a niece and nephew who were both raised in the home, Shekelia & Titus Campbell, 7 great- grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 1:00 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. Ray Lockhart, Jr., Pastor. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service and at other times at the home (118 Leslie Drive Shelby, NC)
