Joan Viona Petro

Gaffney – Joan Viona Petro age 94 of Gaffney SC., from Catawissa, Pennsylvania and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away at home on August 23,2024. She was born in Catawissa, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Bessie Bogart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Petro.

Surviving are the daughters, Virginia Shuman and Veronica Breisch, son, Edward and his wife Cindy Petro and their daughters, Kim and Jackie, her grandson, Michael Shuman and his wife, Rebecca, granddaughter, Stephanie Garrison and her husband Jason and many great grandchildren. While living I Murrells Inlet, she enjoyed her time swimming and doing water aerobics at the pool as well as long morning walks and gardening. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations go to the American Cancer Society. When Joan and Edward meet again, they will cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. They will cross the rainbow bridge together.

The family will celebrate the life of Joan Viona Petro with a memorial service at a later time.
