Jasmine Baultrippe

Charlotte - Jasmine Cherise Baultrippe was born on January 11, 1981, in Cleveland, Ohio.  It seemed to be the coldest day ever, but she warmed our hearts with her light and infectious charm as a young girl.  Growing up Jasmine enjoyed gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, dance and basketball, yet she excelled in swimming at Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul, MN.

Jasmine gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Progressive Baptist Church in St. Paul, MN.  She was active in the youth choir, the junior usher board, and various church plays. She later joined The Park Church in Charlotte, NC where she assisted with several church events.

Jasmine met many of her lifelong friends in elementary, middle and high school. After graduating from high school, Jasmine attended the University of Minnesota where she earned a Bachelor of Individualized Studies in Global Studies, Mass Communication and Sociology. While at the U of MN, Jasmine travelled to Paris and Amsterdam on two study-abroad experiences.

After college Jasmine worked for Verizon Wireless. When she moved to Charlotte NC in 2014, she was hired by the Red Cross as a technical trainer.

Jasmine had many gifts and talents, notably the gift of helping others. She was passionate about blood donation, and in addition to her required work assignments, she organized several community blood-drives.  She had  compassion for people going through difficult circumstances, and often used her anointed gift for cooking and baking to create meals and give her signature cakes to friends in need and for special events.  Although she did not eat cake, Jasmine baked the most awesome cakes, Jazzy Cakes, which we looked forward to at every family function.

Jasmine is affectionately known as Doll by her grandmother Lucendia Buchannan; Jaz, Jazzy, or Jazzy B by family and friends; and Slick by her good friend Niambi. She is Mom or Jazzy J Fresh to her son, Dario.

Jasmine is preceded in death by her dear brother, Julian aka Beanz, and many other family members.  She is survived by her son, Dario Allen of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Theresa Baultrippe of Gaffney, SC; her father, Clayton Baultrippe of Burnsville, MN; her grandmother, Lucendia Buchannan of Gaffney, SC; her uncles Elder Clarence Gist (Kathy) of Cleveland OH and Jonathan Gist of Reseda CA, her aunts; Carmen Lewis of Louisville KY,  Janie Boyd (Willie) of Winston Salem NC, Marcia Greenwood (Glen) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Linda Baultrippe of Cleveland, OH, Malissa Kennedy (Calvin) of Cleveland, OH; her a special friend Kevin Washington and beloved cousins a host of friends and co-workers who will miss the light of her smile.

Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Thursday, October 14, 2021 with a one-hour visitation prior to service in the chapel of Genesis Funeral Cremation Services with Rev. Doris Patterson, Rev. Freddy Davidson officiating.

There will be limited seating capacity due to COVID-19 restriction, facemasks with temperature checks  are required before entering the building
