James Edward Montgomery

Gaffney – James Edward “Red” Montgomery age 76, transitioned from this life on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Julius Montgomery and Vernice Dawkins Montgomery.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, four daughters, Willie Mae Coleman (James), Carolyn Montgomery, Julia Johnson (Gregory), Sandi Coleman, a son, Bennie Lee Harris (Veronica). Reared in the home as a daughter, Tora Montgomery.

Four sisters, Ester Byers (Dr. Lee), Carolyn Watson, Sheila Pasey (Frankie), Andrea Mattone.

Four brothers, Eddie Montgomery (Margie), Matthew Montgomery, Crawley Montgomery, Terry Montgomery (Karen). Grandchildren reared in the home, James Charles Montgomery, Tommy Young, Jasmine Whitaker (Matthew), Markia Montgomery, Jayda Littlejohn.

Grandchildren, Travis Smith, Robert Smith, Inez Linder, Deanna Edwards, Chelsea Smith, Brandee Bonner, Pierre Hollis.

A host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 2:30 pm Thursday, February 4,2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Freddy Davidson officiating.
