Clover– James Edward Hall age 83 of 401 Willow Oaks Circle, Apt C Clover, SC., transitioned from this life at his residence.
James was born on July 7, 1937 to Eliza “Ellison” Hall and William Hall in Clover, SC. James departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home.
James attended Roosevelt High School in Clover, SC. He was employed with Union Underwear/Clevemont Mills for many years until their closure. He later worked with Clover School District and Duke Power.
James attended Jerusalem Baptist church where he worked in the church his entire life. He loved his church and was a devoted member. He was part of the Usher Board, Sunday School, Deacon Board and later in life he accepted his calling to ministry and preached his trial sermon on March 20, 2011. James joined the Masons in 1969 and attended the Olive Branch Lodge until its dissolved and merged with the Wilson Lodge #303 York, SC.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Pegram Hall, son, Jammie Hall, mother Eliza “Ellison” Hall, father William Hall, and sister Francis Hall. James leaves to cherish his memories, his sister Zola Mae Walker of Gastonia, Children Gerald Pegram (Angela) of Gastonia NC, James Barnett (Penny) of Charlotte, NC, Gregory Tate of Clover SC, Sharon Gillispie of Gastonia NC, Parniece Caldwell (Marvin) of Gastonia NC Tomeka Hall (Rodney) Gastonia, NC, Annette Austin (Darryl) Charlotte NC, and Peggy Barnett Charlotte NC; Belisa Johnson Sharon, SC, Grandchildren, Shannon Pegram, Stephanie Wade, Monterio Gillispie, Malika Houser, Johnathan Malik Barnett and Jordan Love; Great Grandchildren Zaniya Perkins, Carmen Wade, Harmanie Wade, MaCaria Gillispie, Malachi Kendrick, Ma’Leyiah Kendrick and Monterio Gillispie Jr. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
