Gaffney – On Monday afternoon, February 13 ,2023 at 4:30 pm at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC., our beloved one, Mr. James Richard Adams of 420 Marion Avenue, Gaffney, SC., was called from his earthly home and left with an angel of God to live eternally with God in his Heavenly Home.

Son of the late Richard Adams and Ozetta Rice, he was born on June 18,1944 in Gaffney, SC. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, four sons; James E. Adams (Jackie) of Astoria Queens, NY., Sherman D. Adams of Gaffney, SC., Maurice Houston, Anthony Houston both of New York., five daughters; Cecil D. Adams, Tangie F. Roseboro, Arvia Galmer, Lillian Burris (Edward) all of Gaffney, SC., Monica Jordan of North Carolina., four sisters; Mrs. Iola Littlejohn (Wilmer), Ms. Brenda Valentine, Mrs. Dorothy McDowell all of Gaffney, SC., Mrs. Margaret Moore of Charleston, SC.

A special friend; Glady Juanita Mayberry and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 22,2023 at 2:00 pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC., the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his granddaughter, Tera Adams located at 176 Thorn Creek Drive, Gaffney, SC., from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
