Elder Johnny Lee Lawrence

Lawndale - Elder Johnny Lee Lawrence, age 68 of Lawndale, NC peacefully transition from this life on Saturday February 29, 2020 at Hospice Wendover of Shelby, NC. Johnny Lee was born on September 22, 1951 in Cleveland County to the late John Lawrence Jr and Mabel Williams Lawrence. He was devoted member of Pine Grove Primitive Baptist church, he received his calling to preach the word of GOD in 2007, he served as a deacon of the church and later became an Elder of the church. Johnny Lee was a retired Journeyman mechanic at Carolina Freight/ABF for 30 years. Johnny was a military veteran where he served in the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by his parents Deacon John Lawrence Jr. and Sister Mabel Williams Lawrence. He is survived by his wife Antoinette Carter Lawrence and one son Linwood (Connie) Carter of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren Victoria Marie Carter (deceased) Kimburlee Nicole Carter and Justin Maurice Carter of Greensboro, NC, two sister-in-laws Attorney Demetria T. Carter of Greensboro, NC, Nina Drakeford of Washington D.C; one Aunt Aileen Fredrick of Lawndale; uncles Paul (Thedosia) Lawrence, Dave (Annie) Lawrence, Issac (Joyce) Lawrence of Lawndale; Elder Frank (Marie) Lawrence Sr; Bobby (Gwen) Lawrence of Shelby, NC, one great aunt, Naomi Ussery Griffin and a host of other  relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2020 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Visitation 1 - 2 P.M. Burial Church Cemetery.
