Gaffney - Edward Hughes age 81 transitioned from this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021
He was the son of the late Rufus Hughes and Fannie Ellen Jeter Hughes. He was the widower of the late Annette Johnson Hughes.
He retired from Union Butterfield Company after many years of service. He was the former minister of The Marion Avenue Church of Christ and Bible Study Teacher. He was a United States Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by four siblings; Della Mae Hughes Davis, Fannie Hughes, Rufus James Hughes, William Hughes.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, a daughter, Connie Hughes Martin of Connecticut, six sisters, Helen Butler, Mary Hughes, Jackie Studyvance (Mark) all of Gaffney, SC., Sally Crawford of East Orange, New Jersey, Patty Poinsette (Theodore) of Newark, New Jersey, Sarah Wee (Jimmy) of Seneca, SC., two grandchildren, Kyler Martin, Ki Martin. A host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
