Dorothy Jean Allen

  Dorothy Jean Allen age 77 of 1014 E O’Neal Street Gaffney, transitioned from this life on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her residence.

She was the widow of the late Johnny Donald Allen and daughter of the Mrs. Emma Houston late Mr. J.B. Houston Sr. She was born in Cherokee County on March 19, 1943. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, two sons Jerry Jefferies and Ricky R. Garrett. A sister the late Barbara Sarratt. Two brothers late Strap Houston and Fleetwood Houston. A special friend Kathey Haney.

She is survived by Four sons Kenny Jefferies (Joyce), Keith L. Garrett, Anthony L. Garrett, and Johnny C. Allen. A daughter Lisa D. Norris. Her mother, Emma Houston, a god son; Edgar Sarratt (Karin). Grandchildren; Latoya Butler (Nelson), Jakenza Jefferies, Jamarrius Jefferies, Quantina Rogers (Jacque), Stephanie Haney (Corey), Terrica Norris, Carlos Norris, Kierra Gist (Dominique), Keith Garrett Jr., Jakella Garrett, Italia Rankin, Joshua Allen. god grandchildren; Kamryn Sarratt, and Edgar Sarratt III. One brother; J.B. Houston Jr. A sister-in-law; Elizabeth Houston. A daughter-in-law; Mrs. Elaine Allen. A son-in-law; Johnny Dean Allen. A sister-in-law; Elizabeth Houston.  A host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. A host of special friends; Mrs. Martha Watkins, Ms. Marie Jefferies, Reverend Mary Johnson, and Mrs. Betty Fernanders.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, February 19,2021 at The New Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the residence.
