Doris Jean Roberts

Gaffney -Mrs. Doris J. Roberts, age 77, of 2059 Union Highway, Gaffney SC , passed into eternal rest on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Mary Black Hospital in Gaffney, SC

She was born February 28,1941 to the late Elbirdie and Loubertha Dawkins. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Rev. LC Roberts, Sr in 1963. They raised a son, two daughters and several grandchildren together.  She was an insurance agent who worked for Liberty Life Insurance company for over 30 years where she received numerous awards and accolades before retiring.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children:  LC Roberts, Jr and Cashlia Roberts of Gaffney, and Tammy Roberts of Atlanta, GA, seven grandchildren:  Latreva Roberts, Sakurea Roberts, Deshawn Roberts, Kayla Rice and Caleb Rice of Gaffney SC, and Joshua Davis and Tyler Davis of Atlanta, GA, three great-grandchildren:  Skyla Rogers, Kyndal Hardy and Ashiyah Scott of Gaffney.  Three sisters:  Marilyn  Littlejohn and Wyonnia Littlejohn of Gaffney, SC and Cora Galmon of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law, Opia Tate of Gaffney, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, devoted friends, and church family.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Cornelius Roberts and two brothers:  Elbirdie Dawkins, Jr. and John Dawkins, all of Gaffney, SC.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14,2018 at The Mt. Sinai Baptist Church

There will be a thirty - minute visitation prior to the service. The body will lie-in-state at 12:30 p.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
