Aretha Ross

Shelby -Aretha Ross age 50 of 1211 Webb Dr. Shelby, peacefully transitioned from this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her residence.

Aretha was born July 20th, 1972 to Raymond Ross and Ida Ree Ross. She attended school at Shelby High School in Shelby, NC and was a graduate of East Rutherfordton School in Rutherfordton, NC. Aretha furthered her education at Isothermal College in Forest City, NC where she completed her training and Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistance. Aretha was employed by Taco Bell as a supervisor for seven years and Autumn Care Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistance for two years. She attended Friendship Baptist Church. Aretha enjoyed attending church, reading, and playing bingo.

Aretha is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Ross and Ida Lee Ross, sister, Willie Ann Egerton, brothers, Richard McDowell, Willie Ross, Tony Ross, Larry Junior McDowell, Eugene Richard McDowell, uncle, Louis Wilson, cousin, Calvin E. Ross, nephew, cousin, David O’neil Gossett; grandparents, Wille Junior McDowell and Zoe Carolyn Wray McDowell, Clayton Wray and Ida Agnes Allen, and Willie Fair, and Vergel Hicks. Cherished memories of Aretha are left in the hearts of her brother, Anthony Ross (Alicia) of Charlotte, NC; aunt Lindenea McDowell of Kingstown, NC; uncle, Damian McDowell of Shelby, NC; four special cousin, Barbara Whiteside, Latarsha Ross, Alexia Gossett, Damar Gossett; special friend DeShawn Olham, and host of other relatives and friends. 

Memorial service Sunday December 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Friensdship Baptist Church
