Sunrise:  Wilbert Junior Phillips was born in Cherokee County on January 12, 1946 to the late John T. and Bessie Phillips Humphries.
Sunset:  Wilbert Junior Phillips, 72, departed this life on October 26, 2018 at his home in Gaffney, South Carolina. Wilbert was a 1965 graduate of Granard High School.  He was a construction worker for years.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army.  Wilbert loved watching western movies and football. The Panthers was his favorite team.  Wilbert had a good heart and loved   helping others.  He loved his family and friend dearly.
 
In addition to his parents, Wilbert was preceded in death by a special aunt; Lucille Phillips Morris (Skirt). Those who remain….Left to cherish many fond memories:  his son; Wilbert Tracy Littlejohn (Kim), his daughter Rebecca Littlejohn both of Gaffney, South Carolina, five sisters; Betty Davis, Raylou Galmer, Hattie Humphries, Sandra Evans,  Jonette Humphries all of Gaffney, South Carolina, three brothers; James Wilson, Larry Phillips, Sammy Humphries all of Gaffney, South Carolina, a special nephew; Bobby Dean Morris who he reared in the home, two aunts; Viola Phillips, Ruth Phillips,eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at The Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

Interment will follow with military rites in the church cemetery.

The family will be meeting at 308 Vermont Dr. Gaffney, SC
