Rev. Brandon Lee McElhaney

Charlotte - Brandon Lee McElhaney was born in Mecklenburg County on March 5, 1982 and departed from his earthly life to his heavenly life September 1, 2018. Brandon graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 2000 and attended Johnson C. Smith University. Brandon was a member of Alpha Phi Kappa and Beta Psi Phi, a group formed at West Mecklenburg High School to help and serve friends and students in need. Brandon was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, pastor, musician, singer and a good friend. Brandon loved life and committed his life to GOD at an early age. he accepted his call in the ministry in 2013. He was very passionate about serving GOD and his community preaching, teaching, encouraging and serving those that were lost.  He had a big heart and infectious smile that would light up any room. Brandon served as senior pastor at House of Truth Worship Center in Charlotte, NC and New Covenant Baptist Church in Shelby, NC.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Mary; his three daughters, Reagan, Allison and Peyton; his parents, Rev. RL McElhaney and Sheila McElhaney; sister, Felicia( Maurice) Goodson; three nephews, Tyler, Taylor and Tavien; his spiritual grandmother, Lillie Rodgers; godfather, Dr. Willie E. Garrison ( Choltia); godsisters, Shonda Hall ( Vaughan), Monique Graham ( Travis) ; godbrother, Donovan Garrison ( Tenisha) and a host of aunts, cousins and friends.   

Funeral: Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 12pm at Friendship Christian Church ( 221 Bradley Ave. Gastonia, NC 28052). The family will receive friends 1hr prior to the service.
