Ollie Thompson

Mr. Ollie” Dad Galloway” Thompson, age 89 of 800 West Fairview Ave. Gaffney, SC peacefully transition Thursday, September 21,2017 at The Mary Black Hospital, Spartanburg, SC. He was born April 24,1928 in Cherokee County SC He was the son of the late Galloway Thompson and Dora Byers Thompson. He was preceded in death by a wife, Daisy Thompson, a daughter, Patricia Thompson, sons Michael Thompson, a grandson, Jarvis Jefferies and a brother, Samuel Smith.

At an early age he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and joined The Mikes Creek Baptist Church.” Dad “was one to make you smile even on the toughest day. He loved people and was exceptionably proud about his “big” family.

Ollie left to cherish fond memories, a son: Scott (Kesha) Thompson of District of Columbia, daughters: Barbara Smith, Geraldine Smith, Lorraine Lindsay, Vanessa (Paul) Jefferies all of Gaffney, SC., Susan (Kenneth) Harris of Connecticut, Nicole Thompson of Georgia. A former wife, Maggie Thompson of Connecticut. 24 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 28, 2017 in the chapel of Genesis Funeral Cremation Service & Chapel Inc. of Gaffney, SC;,

Pastor Ronald Frazier officiating.

There will be a thirty-minute visitation 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the home of a daughter, Barbara Smith, 413 Serene Dr. Gaffney, SC.
