Moses Griggs

Cherryville - Mr. Moses Griggs, age 64, departed this life on September 24, 2018 at Carolina Healthcare System - Cleveland., in Shelby, North Carolina.  He was born May 1, 1954 to Maude P. Griggs and the late Henry Nelson Griggs, Sr. in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Moses was educated by the Cleveland County School System.  He attended Washington Elementary School and Burns High School.  He was employed with FAB Industries in Cherryville, North Carolina until his health declined in 1999.

He is preceded in death by his father; Henry Nelson Griggs, Sr., one brother; Henry Nelson Griggs, Jr., and one sister; Faye Antonette Griggs.

Left to cherish his memories;  his loving wife Frances Byers Griggs, one daughter; Lakisha Yvette Griggs of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, one son; Moses Monrail Griggs of the home, his mother; Maude P. Griggs of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, one sister; Donna Reed Griggs of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, one brother; Mike Griggs (Barbara) of Charlotte, North Carolina, one nephew; Larry Baxter of the home,  mother-in-law; Margaret Sawyer Byers, sisters-in-law; Betty Byers Brook, Crystal Donna Parks, five grandchildren; Dominique D’Anthonio Beam, Anarriye Zaniya Eskridge, Haven Alexandrea Griggs, Zandraya Lee Griggs, Bella Rayne Wiseman, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral: Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2pm at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church ( 201 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia). The family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service.
