Life Profile

 Martha Ann Ellis, age 80, of 720 Levi Street Shelby, North Carolina peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her residence.  She was born September 29, 1938 in Cherokee County, South Carolina to the late Robert and Annie Deal.

Martha retired from the Shelby City School System.  She loved working with children and going to Flea Markets, yard sales, and fishing.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ellis, sisters; Velma Watts, Lucille Edwards, brothers; Melvin Borders, James Robert Deal “Brother Boy,” her son; Jimmy Darrell Ellis, and a daughter Santa Faye Robbs.

Left to cherish her memories: her children, Robbin Deal, Veretta  Wilson, Mark Deal (Donna), Stanley Ellis, Sonja Nunez (Fabio), Teresa McKellar (Walter), April Boozer, and Hannah Ellis, sons-in-law; Bennie Robbs, and Vincent Boozer, daughter-in law; Debra Ellis, sisters-in-law; Rose Deal, Minnie Ellis, and Martha Tuft, two special nieces; Dora Devyon Watts, Tracy Robbs who was reared in the home with her, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Shelby - Martha Ellis, age 80, of 720 Levi Street Shelby, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her residence.                                                                                                                                      A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Genesis Funeral Services & Chapel in Gaffney S.C.
