Louis Calvin Johnson

 Mr. Louis Calvin “LC” Johnson 85, of 608 Suttle Street, Shelby, North Carolina departed this life on April 29th 2019 at Hospice of Cleveland County.  He was born December 24th 1933 to the late John and Jessie Mae Johnson Simon.

Louis was raised by his grandparents Cap and Amanda Deck Johnson.  He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, watching Westerns and Gardening.  He was retired from MDI in Hickory, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vernie Proctor Johnson, son; Lawrence Johnson, stepson; William Whisnant,  his siblings; Alma Jean Lawrence, Helen Johnson Sims, John Paul Johnson and Marvin Simon.

Left to cherish fond memories: his wife, Annie Thurman Johnson of the home, his children; Sylvia (David) Lattimore, Jessie Johnson, Barbara (Bobby) Ross, and John Paul Johnson all of Shelby, North Carolina, Louis (Branda Ann) Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Steve Johnson of Gaffney, South Carolina, step-children; Larry Thurman, Lois (Albert)  Surratt, Lora Thurman, Renee (Roger) Ford, Bruce Whisnant, Chella  Whisnant, Tony (Tomica) Whisnant all of Shelby, North Carolina, five siblings; Rosa Lee, Geneva, Clayton, James, Charles Johnson,  special friends,  Benny Davis and Dwight York and a host of grands, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
