Shelby - Jimmy Lee Banks, peacefully transition this life on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his residence. Jimmy worked for Sears, and Eagle Rolling Mill. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, and watching his favorite football team play, the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Lavetta Banks, step-son; Kevin Walls, sisters; Daisy Beam, Irean Wilson, Lucillila Brooks, Alberta Glen, brothers; James Wilson, James Ramseur, Clyde Wilson, Roger Banks, and Eugene Banks.
Jimmy leaves to cherish loving memories; his step-children; Raynard, Renee, Shanada, Drea, Ray Jr. and Mark, one great-grandson; sister; Hattie Thurman of Shelby, North Carolina, brothers; Bobby Banks of Boiling Springs, Charles Banks (Shirley), and Leroy Banks of Shelby, North Carolina, a very special friend; Renne Ross, and host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral: Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:30am at Genesis Funeral Services ( in the Otis Mobley, Jr. Memorial Chapel) . The family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service.
