Kings Mountain - Mr. James (Dock) Leach, Jr. was born on December 5, 1941 in Grover, North Carolina to the late James Leach, Sr. and Lillian Sara Jane Davidson Leach. Dock left this earthly life peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Dock attended Compact High School but soon left to work and help support his family. Dock joined Shiloh AME Zion at an early age but recommitted his life to Christ in 1996. There, he was a Trustee and a member of the All Male Choir. His favorite songs were Walk Around Heaven and Spirit Fall Down. He worked for the City of Kings Mountain for several years, where he retired. Dock married Mattie in 1998 and they made their home in Kings Mountain until his death. Preceded in death by his parent, James Leach, Sr. and Lillian Sara Jane Davidson Leach, two brothers, Donald O’Neal Leach and Bobby Eugene Leach, two sisters, Betty Crocker Williams and Tenna Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife; Mattie Leach, daughters; Pamela Owens of Asheville, North Carolina, Tracy Billups of Decatur, Georgia, Jeanelle Parker McClain of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Pandora Leach of Wilmington, North Carolina, Michelle Goode (Ronald) of Concord, North Carolina, Carmelia Owens of Gastonia, North Carolina, Bridgette Love of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Tammy Stewart (Darren) of Gastonia, North Carolina, Lisa Huskey of Waco, North Carolina, Tootie Carson (Gene) of Shelby, North Carolina, sons; Timothy Leach, James (Tony) Leach of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Jerome Reid, Darryl Reid of Gastonia, North Carolina, Lewis Huskey of Waco, North Carolina, sisters; Goldie Leach Russell of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Nancy Julien (Terry) of New Rochelle, New York, Brenda Leach Williams (Clarke) of Baltimore, Maryland, brother; Wayne Leach (Janet) of Shelby, North Carolina. Dock has 33 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friendsFuneral service will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 1 P.M. Visitation 12:30 - 1 P.M. at Shiloh AME Zion Grover NC. Burial Church Cemetery.
