James Edward Jefferies

 Gaffney - James Edward Jefferies (affectionately known as Puddin) age 67, of 601 Floyd Baker Blvd Apt.1D. Peacefully transitioned at his residence.

 He was born on September 9, 1951.

He was a member of Indian Hill Baptist Church, in Gaffney, SC where he served on the usher ministry and the all-male chorus.

 He was preceded in death by his son: Bernard Jefferies, two brothers: Dennis Jefferies and Jeffery Jefferies.

Still living are his wife, Dorothy Jefferies and daughter, Cassandra Johnson both of Gaffney. Parents, James Jefferies (Parnice) of Gaffney and Annie Mae Jefferies of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by five brothers and three sisters: Johnny Jefferies (Naomi), Bobby Jefferies (Debra), and James Paul Gist all of Gaffney and Willie Jefferies (Tonya) and John Jefferies (Tonya), Dianne Kennedy (Larry), Henrietta Gouid all of Cleveland, OH and Gloria Jefferies of Charlotte, NC. His aunt Beulah Washington (McKinley) of Charleston, Rosetta Dawkins of Philadelphia, PA, and Marie Dawkins, Estelle Dawkins, Emma Houston, and Louise Wilson all of Gaffney. He has three grandchildren: Chars' Littlejohn, Qua Johnson (Evan), and Montrez Jefferies all of Gaffney and one great-grandson, Aiden Poole. He is also survived by a great host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friends. 

 Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8,2019 at 2pm in the chapel of Genesis Funeral Cremation Service & Chapel Inc. Interment will follow at The Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will host visitors at the home of his daughter, Cassandra Johnson at 1000 Clary St. Gaffney SC 29340.
