James Edward Adams

Kings Mountain - James Adams , age 77, of  226 Branchwood Circle, Kings Mountain, NC passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Atrium Health- Kings Mountain.                                                           

 Funeral service will be held Wednesday September 25, 2019 at  Long Branch Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Visitation 1 :30 - 2 P.M. Burial Church cemetery.

James Edward Adams, he was known to his family and friends as “Friday” was born August 17, 1942.  He answered the called to be with the Lord on September 15, 2019 at Atrium Health-Kings Mountain.

James was a graduate of Davidson High School where he later worked in Maintenance.  James spent a number of years living in Newark, New Jersey where he worked as a cook, bartender, and a construction  worker.  Upon returning home to North Carolina, he became a licensed   professional truck driver for Rapid Trucking.  He retired from a local company in 2006.

James was a die heart fan of the NFL Indianapolis Colt.  He enjoyed playing cards, playing pranks on his nieces, watching cowboy movies, and he always enjoyed hamburgers and hot coffee anytime of the day.  He called his nieces his girls.  He loved reading the bible, his church and the Lord. James was a member of Long Branch First Baptist Church. 

James is preceded in death by his mother; Bertie Lee McKinney Adams and parent Bill Adams.  His father; Jet Parker, Sr.  He is also preceded in death by a brother; Willie Lee Adams, his sisters; Willie Mae Adams Peete, Pauline Adams, Julia Ann Adams Hogue, and Geneva Ingram.

He survived by his sister Alene Adams of Westerville, Ohio, his aunt; Shirley Ingram of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, sisters; Gloria Burris,  Jeanette Parker of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Mary Ann Logan of Grover, North Carolina, brothers; Clayton McClain (Annie) of Shelby, North Carolina, Jethro Parkers (Lilly Mae) of Gastonia, North Carolina, David Parker, Rodney Parker, and Jet Parker, Jr. all of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
