Dow Tyrone Braziel

Shelby - Mr. Dow Tyrone Braziel, age 68, of Shelby, NC departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born on November 23, 1950 to the late Clifford and Mary Margaret Braziel. He earned a Bachelor of Sociology degree from Tennessee State University. He began his career as program director at the Cleveland County Boys Club in Shelby, NC. He then worked 28 years with Kemet Electronics and retired as a social worker with Lincoln County Department of Social Services. He has been a long time member of Palmers Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher and with several other auxiliaries in his church and community. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, attending sporting events and making people laugh. In addition to his parents, Tyrone was preceded in death by his brothers Sam and Jimmy Braziel. He leaves to cherish his wife of 44 years, Linda Braziel; two daughters, Leslie Diane Watkins and Wykisha Renee Braziel; one sister, Mary Sue Davis; two nieces, Rhonia Mason (Fred Jr.), Shannon Howard (William); two nephews; Eric Davis (Kelly) and Hunter Wilder; 3 goddaughters; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral: Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11am at Palmer Grove Baptist Church in Kingstown, NC. The family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service.

Burial: Church Cemetery
