Doris Dean (Young) Hunt

Shelby - Mrs. Doris Dean Young Hunt, 67, departed this life on Wednesday, January 4th, 2019 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on March 26th, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Charlie Coleman Young and Lillie Mae Ponder Young.

Doris was a 1969 graduate of Crest High School. She was employed with the Cleveland County school system for several years but also worked additionally at Western Steer Restaurant out of Shelby, NC.

Doris was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church, Grover, NC where she was very active in the kitchen committee. She was very passionate about cooking and loved to plant flowers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a mother figure to many in her community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary E. Young, Virginia L. Ross, Betty G. Young and two brothers, Coleman L. Young and Charles Y. Young.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, Charles Hunt III, daughter Aimee Edwards of Raleigh, NC and son Charles Hunt IV (NyShonda) of Creedmoor, NC; two sisters, Sarah Young Mask (David), Sandra Diane Young Wilson both of Shelby, NC; one brother, Hilton Lewis Young (Patricia) of Suffolk, VA; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
