Gaffney - Mrs. Denise Glymph entered her eternal peace on Friday, January 4,2019 at 11:54 a.m. at The Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born October 14, 1959 in Gaffney, S.C. to the late Precious Hoey & Mary Lee Thompson Hoey.
Denise was a 1977 graduate of Blacksburg High school in Blacksburg, S.C. She enjoyed bowling and softball, but really loved spending time with family and friends. She was employed by Boyd Corp., but served many years with Core Molding Technologies where she gained many lifelong friends and memories.
At an early age, Denise accepted Christ at Young’s Baptist Church where she was a faithful choir member. She loved her church family and The Pittsburg Steelers. She always had a warm smile and encouraging words for all she encountered.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Vickie Watkins.
Left to cherish many fond memories are a husband, Steven Glymph, three children, Darrius Hoey, Thomas Burris, Tabitha Burris. One stepdaughter, Robtees Smith. One sister, Kimberly Jefferies. Eight grandchildren, Suderia Hoey, Sirrius Hoey, Tymberlind Hoey, Kaliber Hoey, Xavier Burris, O’Marion Jefferies, Dayon Burris and Gloria Smith. One great grandchild, Aubri Scott. Two Brother-in-laws Matthew Jefferies and Clarence Glymph(Carla) of Snellville, G.A. Three aunts Mickey Corry of Blacksburg, S.C. Mrs. Martha Jean Jefferies, and Mrs. Ethelene Davidson both of Gaffney. One uncle James Harold Hoey (Jacqueline) of Gaffney, S.C.; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12,2019 at The Youngs grove Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC., a thirty-minute visitation prior to the service.
The family is receiving friends at the residence.
