Autra Ann (Whisnant) Byers

Charlotte - Autra Ann "Ponytail"  Byers, was born in Shelby, North Carolina on November 28, 1965.   She made her transition Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her home in  Charlotte,  North Carolina.  Autra was the daughter of Shirley Ann Moncree and the late Joe Henry Bell. Autra attended Central Piedmont Community College where she received her GED.  She was a gifted woman with a heart and spirit of a good Samaritan.  She worked at Ihop in the kitchen. She is preceded in death by father; Joe Henry Bell, her paternal grandparents; Thelma Lockhart, Leroy Dawkins, Annette Dawkins, Joey and Ada Bell and one sister; Terry Bell.  Left to cherish her fond memories her mother; Shirley Ann Moncree (Johnny) her children:  Latoya Byers Adams (Brian), Tony Byers (Tabitha), Jasmine Brown (Steven), Kiera Whittenburg (Maylik), Zuriel Byers, all of Shelby, North Carolina, sisters; Sharon Parks, Sandra Whisnant, Vicky Kornegay, Debbie Bell, Gerlene Bell, all of Shelby, North Carolina, Paula Johnson (Bobby), of Baltimore, MD, brother; Ronald Bell (Cynthia), step-sisters;  Sherry Geter (Robert), Lisa Moncree, Melissa Moncree, step-brother; Johnny Moncree, Jr. all of Lincolnton, North  Carolina, uncle; Ernest Bell (Diane) of   Shelby, North Carolina, 7 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:30pm at Genesis Funeral Services & Chapel in the Otis Mobley, Jr Memorial Chapel ( 407 E. Grover St. Shelby, NC)

The family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service.

Burial: New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery ( 5186 Hope Rd. Vale, NC 28168)
