Shelby - Mr. Stanley Poston, Sr. was born on March 13, 1963 to Virgil Fitzchue Poston and Dorothy Mae Washington Poston. He was best known to his family and friends as “Bae”. On Tuesday, March 30, he peacefully departed his life at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Stanley has received his glorified body and is rejoicing in heaven with many family members and friends.
Stanley attended Shelby High School and graduated in 1981. He worked at ABB in Kings Mountain, North Carolina as an Industrial Painter. Stanley was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist church where he served on the Usher Board. He had a jovial spirit; always had a smile on his face. His leisure activities included fishing, working out, and spending time with family.
Stanley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Reverend Paul and Pearl Poston; his maternal grandmother: Ollie Mae Washington; six uncles and three aunts.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 31 years: Miranda Tuft Poston of the home; his son: Stanley Poston, Jr. also of the home; parents: Virgil and Dorothy Mae Poston of Shelby, North Carolina; two sisters: Donita Poston and Lisa Poston both of Shelby, North Carolina; two brothers: Kenneth Poston (Betty) of Shelby, North Carolina and Bryant Poston of Gastonia, North Carolina; father-in-law: Ben Tuft of Waco, North Carolina; one brother-in-law: Ben Tuft, Jr. (Melanie) of Cherryville, North Carolina; one sister- in-law: Vickie Koenig (Richard) of Waco, North Carolina; a special aunt: Louise Barrow; a special niece: Christian Horton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral: Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 3pm at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 30 mins prior to the service.
