Kings Mountain - Rhonda Elaine Tate, age 57, of Kings Mountain, NC the daughter of the late Clarence Ward Tate and Lunell Gill Tate, peacefully transitioned from this life on Friday June 26,2026 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Rhonda dedicated over 33 years of faithful service to Walmart, where her exceptional work ethic,
integrity, and commitment earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Her
career was a testament to her perseverance, loyalty, and dedication. Beyond her professional
accomplishments, she generously shared her financial wisdom with family and friends, becoming a
trusted advisor to many. Though not professionally licensed, countless loved ones sought her guidance
because of her wisdom, discernment, and genuine desire to help others build secure futures.
Committed to serving her community, Rhonda also faithfully served as a Judge with the Cleveland
County Board of Elections, carrying out her civic responsibilities with fairness, integrity, and dedication.
While her accomplishments were many, they were never what defined her most. Rhonda’s greatest
identity was found in her relationship with God. She was a devoted member of Victory Christian Center
Church for more than 30 years, where she faithfully worshipped, served, and grew in her walk with
Christ. She was a woman of deep and abiding faith who trusted the Lord through every season of life.
Her love for Christ was evident in the way she lived, served, encouraged others, and remained steadfast
even through life’s greatest challenges.
Her courage, hope, and belief in God’s promises never wavered. Until her very last days, she remained
faithful, standing firmly on the foundation of her faith. Rhonda will forever be remembered as a woman of
grace, kindness, humility, and compassion. She possessed a gentle spirit, a beautiful smile, and a heart
that welcomed everyone. But she had, a sweet way of letting you know, of her disapproval of something
you said or done, by going to her favorite phrase, “For Your Information” Lol. She loved deeply,
gave generously, and never hesitated to encourage those around her. She was intelligent, resilient,
hardworking, and independent—a true free spirit who lived authentically and never allowed the opinions
of others to define her. Instead, she chose to walk confidently in the purpose God had for her life.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, wisdom, and unconditional love. She was a devoted
sister, a cherished aunt, a loyal friend, a trusted confidant, and a source of strength and encouragement
to countless lives. Through her example, she taught those around her the value of hard work, integrity,
generosity, courage, and relentless faith.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, the Late Clarence Ward Tate and Lunell Gill
Tate.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving siblings: 5 Sisters, Carolyn Tate Goins (Clifton)
of Kings Mountain, N.C., JoAnn Young of Kings Mountain, N.C., Jean Ward (Darryl), of Kings Mountain,
N.C., Glenda Tate Williams of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Cynthia T. Smith, (Christopher) of Shelby,
N.C., 2 Brothers, James Tate of Gastonia, N.C., and Clarence V. Tate of Raeford, N.C., only remaining
Uncles McClerien Gill (Bertha) of Baltimore, Md., Paul Gill, of Gastonia, N.C. and Aunt Mary Gill of
Baltimore, Md.: along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends,
her cherished church family at Victory Christian Center Church, and all whose lives were forever touched
by her kindness, wisdom, and love.
Although our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice knowing that she has heard the words, “Well done,
good and faithful servant.” Her earthly journey has ended, but her legacy of faith, love, service, and
excellence will continue to inspire generations to come.

Public Viewing: Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Genesis Funeral Services & Chapel in the Otis Mobley Memorial Chapel

Visitation: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 2pm at Mt. Zion Restoration Church (Gastonia, NC); the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
