David Lee Roberts

Kings Mountain - David Lee Roberts age 80 of 214 Bridges Circle, Kings Mountain, NC; on October 26, 2021, David peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to join the others who have gone on before him. David Lee Roberts, Sr. was born April 19,1941 in Shelby, North Carolina. He was the son of James and Futcher Roberts. At an early age, David accepted Christ as his Savior, joining Washington Missionary Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina. David was united in marriage with Odessa Huskey, August 5, 1962 in Shelby, North Carolina. Their union was blessed with three children. David was employed with Seaboard Railroad and Beams Constructions until his retirement. He was a member of the Laymen League and Tryon Masonic Lodge #8, Shelby, North Carolina. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and coloring. David is preceded in death by his parents, James and Futcher Roberts; brothers, W. T. Roberts, Lewis Roberts; sisters, Louise Oates, Madeline Jones, Eula Mae Roberts, Jennie B. Borders, Alice Howell, Lorina Lipscomb, Rosa Roberts; two sons, David Lee Robert, Jr. and Tracy Leon Roberts. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Odessa H. Roberts, daughter, Lisa (Dalonte) of the home, Janie Williams (Eddie), Anthony Ellis (Tammy); sixteen grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, brother/nephew, Willie Roberts (Pat), son-inlaw, Darin Brown, and a host of other beloved families and friends. 

Funeral service will be held on  Monday November 1, 2021 at Washington Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Visitation 30 minutes prior to service.
