Renaldo " Pecan" Tyrod Williams

September 28, 1969 ~ October 21, 2015 (age 46) 46 Years Old

Renaldo Tyrod Williams, affectionately known as “Pecan” was born on September 28, 1969 in Kings Mountain, NC to the late Letha Ann Wilson and Atwood Ashley Williams. He departed this life and  entered the gates of heaven on October 21, 2015. Pecan attended Burns High School. He was very good with  hands and worked in construction, landscaping and was a highly skilled handyman. Pecan was also a very talented cook and knew his way around the kitchen. He loved his family. Pecan was a very devoted father during the very short time he had with his infant daughter. Anyone blessed with the privilege of knowing him was instantly embraced with his heart of gold. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. Some of his hobbies included, weekly cookouts with family, hanging out with friends, movie nights and sharing his love of music with anyone who would listen. Pecan was truly a remarkable individual.                                             

He was preceded in death by his mother, Letha Ann Wilson; daughter, Aaliyah Destiny Williams; uncle, Robert C. (Bobby) Williams; maternal grandfather, Ralph Wilson and paternal grandparents, Robert and Symantha Williams.                              

Pecan is survived by his father, Atwood Ashley Williams (Jackie Sherrer) of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandmother, Willie F. Wilson of Gastonia, NC; sisters, Felicia (Will) Felder of Baltimore, MD, Tamesha Sherrer of Atlanta, GA and “Lil Sis” (cousin) Lashay (Shaun and Trystan) Redlinger of Gastonia, NC; brother, Tobias Sherrer of Atlanta, GA; Aunts, Dorothy Brown, Marilyn Wilson, Pamela Williams, all of Gastonia, NC, Bettye Bullard and Clayteena (Monroe) McClain of Bessemer City, NC, Nadine (George) Allison of Kings Mountain, NC, Shirley Williams of Charlotte, NC and Brenda Branch of Atlanta, GA; uncles, Thomas (Betty) Brown of Dallas, NC and Keith Williams of Atlanta, GA; niece, Essesnce Petit-Frere and nephew, Jaeman Jax Felder of Baltimore, MD and a host of cousins and other relatives.

The family will be receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral services

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Washington Miss. Baptist Church, Shelby NC

Burial will take place at the church cemetery
