Grover- Peggy Whitmire, age 85, of 216 Timberland Dr., Grover, departed this life on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at White Oak Manor, Shelby

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 19, 2016 at 3:00pm visitation 30 minutes prior to the services at Good Hope Presbyterian Church, Elder David L. Moore Sr. officiating.

Peggy M. Whitmire of Kings Mountain, NC took her rest on May 12, 2016 at White Oak Manor of Shelby, NC. She was the daughter of the late Meek & Ethel Curry Mitchem.

She was a native of Cleveland County and a retired emergency registered nurse with many years of dedicated service at the Kings Mountain Hospital. She was a faithful member at Good Hope Presbyterian Church, where she served on several positions including holding the position as an Elder.

Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Reginald M. Whitmire, her stepmother, Alma M. Mitchem, six sisters, two biological brothers and four stepbrothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter Dorothy Whitmire, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great-greatgrandchildren; a longtime dear friend, Hazel Burris Abernathy, a special nephew, Fredrick Smith and a host of other family members and friends.
