Patricia (Card) Pryor

Shelby- Patricia Pryor, age 66, of 110 Philbeck St., passed away on January 20, 2016 at Hospice Cleveland County, Kings Mountain

PATRICIA CARD PRYOR: Affectionately known as” PAT” or “Tricia,” was born in Shelby, NC on December 18,1949 to the late Margie Card and Alford Williamson. She was married to the late Jerry Pryor. From this union was born a son Adrian Pryor of Shelby, N.C. Pat was educated in the Public School System of Cleveland County, she graduated from Burns High School in 1968.
Patricia was preceded in death by her sister Bernice Card and her 3 brothers: Charles Wright, Jerry Card, Bobby Card., Three surviving sister-in-laws: Sadie Pryor, Virginia Card and Cheryl Card,
Pat has one special friend; Dianne Sweezy Clemons who was always by her side and who has become a permanent member of the Card Family.
Pat was a loving and devoted mother, she gave up her career to become a stay at home mom for her son Adrian. Before Adrian was born she moved to Philadelphia PA . to live with her cousin Helen Card, but the city life was not for Pat, she moved back to Shelby N.C. Two years later. Pat loved going to Church up until her health failed in 2013.   Her favorite thing to do was shop, she was always shopping for Adrian and she always made sure he was well dressed. Pat's home was always spotless and neat, she found joy in the simple things of life. Pat was very quiet, easy going, calm and a private person. In 2005 she came to Virginia Beach VA, to visit Helen Card but after a few days, she started to miss Adrian and rushed home to make sure he was OK. She talked often about how she would love to move to Virginia Beach, VA but that conversation always ended with “I can't be too far away  from Adrian, and I don't want to relocate him. Adrian was very loved and so special to Pat.
She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives, friends and her life long friend Dianne Sweezy.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral services

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, visitation 30 minutes prior to services at Genesis Funeral Services & Chapel  in the “Otis Mobley Memorial Chapel” on 407 E. Grover St., Shelby.
