Mary Ann Phillips

Mary Ann Phillips 80, of 747 Vale St. passed July 31, 2016 at Carolina Healthcare System Cleveland. She was born on May 10, 1936 in Cleveland County to the late J. Hugh and Virginia Phillips. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her children, Evelena Phillips and Tommy Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lena Bell Phillips and brother David Phillips.

Mary worked of many years at National Linen in Hickory, NC. She retired from Artee Industries in Shelby. She was a foster grandparent of Marion School and Elizabeth School. Her hobby was cooking

Mary is survived by her daughter Sheila Phillips of the home, two sons, Richard and Douglas Phillips of Shelby, five sisters, Geneva Phillips, Lenora Phillips, Ruby Grigg of Hickory; Margaret Wilson and Peggy (Ken) Roberts of Shelby, three brothers J.K. Phillips of Hickory, Ralph (Caren) Phillips of Shelby and Bobby Phillips of Baltimore,MD; seven grandchildren; Roger Parks, Nathaniel Phillips, Derrick Phillips, Patrick Stroud, Damien Phillips and Brittany Phillips of Shelby,and Marquette Phillips of Hickory 16 great-grandchildren, a special nephew Martin Hillman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Shelby

Burial will take place at Ramseur Baptist Church
