Funeral: Friday, May 6, 2016 @ 11am at Genesis Funeral Home in the Otis Mobley Memorial Chapel
Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 min. prior to the service

    Sunrise… Joe Lee Russell, Jr. “Petie”, 68, 920 FoxCroft Circle Apt. B, Shelby, NC was born on June 8, 1947 to the late Joe Lee Russell, Sr. and Eunice Baker Russell. Joe worked at Cleveland Paper and Waste for several years. He enjoyed watching television.
    Sunset…. On Sunday, May 1, 2016, Joe peacefully transitioned at Hospice Cleveland County. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie Mae Allen and Eula Brown and a brother, Gary Dean Russell.      
    Those who remain….Joe leaves to cherish fond memories a daughter, Daniella Davis (Michael);eight grandchildren; three aunts, Fannie Middlebrooks Duncan, Dora Surratt and Azzie Baker; one uncle, Charles Middlebrooks; his caretaker of 38 years and whom he called mother also, Virginia Black and her children whom Joe considered his siblings also; a special friend, Ella Thompson , and a host of other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
