Janis Sue (Dorsey) Lockhart

Janis Sue Lockhart, age 64, of 257 John E. Randall Rd., Shelby, passed on July 16, 2016 at her resident. Born in Cleveland County on September 23, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Will Henry and Martha Wilson Dorsey. Janis was a member of Living Water Christian Ministry. Janis retired from Hoechst Celanse after 22 years of service as a supervisor. She enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, cooking, socializing among family and friends and being with her loving dog, Treasure

In additional to her parents, Janis is preceded in death by two brother, Willie Dorsey and Max Dorsey; two sisters, Christine Dorsey and Martha Ann Dorsey: and a grandson, Montavas Lawton.

Janis is survived by her former husbad, K.C. Lockhart: three sons, Darren Dorsey(Tanisha) of Lawndale, Willie Bean (Renee) of Spartanburg, SC and Maurice Gidney (Brandy) of Shelby; four daughters, Robin Dorsey( Thomas) of Earl, Melissa Lawton of Shelby, Tammy Bean and Danielle Beam of  Lawndale

The family will be receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm, Saturday, July, 23, 2016 at First Bapt. Lawndale Church, Lawndale

Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery
