Memorial Service: Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2pm at Genesis Funeral Services & Chapel ( 407 East Grover St. Shelby) in the Otis Mobley Memorial Chapel

Alfred U. Hamrick, 62, of 127 Victor Drive, passed away Tuesday Aug. 8, 2017, at his residence.
Alfred was born in Cleveland County to the late Ernest and Viola Hamrick. He loved to fish, hunt, watch movies, and shop. He worked at Cones Mill until it closed. He also worked at RR Donnelly for 13 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; five brothers, James Hamrick, Tommy Hamrick, Ernest Hamrick, Albert Hamrick, and Michael Hamrick; three sister, Eula Mae Hamrick, Caroline Hamrick, and Odessa Hamrick.
Left to cherish fond memories are, his fiancé, Gladys Mcswain; three sons, Isaac Hampton (wife Evette Lynch-Hampton) and Vershawn Hamrick of North Carolina, and Travis Eskridge of New York; four daughters, Virginia M. and husband of Connecticut, Danielle Cagle-Blue (husband Victor Blue), JaVondia Hamrick, and Osia Mcswain of North Carolina; three brothers, Sherman Hamrick and Charles Hamrick of North Carolina, and Archie Hamrick of New Jersey; two sisters, Elisabeth Hamrick of North Carolina, and Hazeline Sutton of Connecticut; 9 grandchildren; a special nephew, Sherman Hamrick of North Carolina; a special cousin, Gary Hamrick of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
